LONDON - Jacob's Creek has appointed Elvis as its lead creative agency, without a pitch.

The Pernod Ricard-owned wine has briefed the agency to help reinvigorate the brand, following the launch of a number of new rivals in the wine market.

Elvis will handle the UK-specific communications for Jacob's Creek, working across both online and offline platforms.

Its first campaign for the brand is expected to launch over the Christmas period.

However, Australian agency Clemenger BBDO, which has worked with Jacob's Creek for a number of years, will continue to create global campaigns, some of which will run in the UK market.

Jacob's Creek has used agencies on a project basis to handle its UK marketing in recent years. In 2006, Dare worked alongside Clemenger BBDO to create a ‘welcome to our place' campaign, focusing on the wine's Australian heritage.

Last week the brand signed a commercial deal with the Mail on Sunday, to sponsor its exclusively created online drama ‘Katie & Co'. The deal was brokered by Vizeum.

Jacob's Creek is currently one of Pernod Ricard's 15 flagship brands, which also include Malibu, Jameson and Chivas Regal.
