Emap Digital has poached Carat International's global director of digital media, Jeremy Swinfen Green, to fill the newly created position of worldwide director of advertising operations.
The move comes as Emap Advertising aims to strengthen its own new media offering, hiring former Ogilvy & Mather media account director Jane Henley to head its digital sales team.
Swinfen Green will be asked to work with Emap's print publishing divisions to develop new online ad offerings and persuade Emap's print advertisers that internet branding can prove a worthwhile complementary tool. He will work alongside Emap Digital's commercial director Julie Harris with a brief that covers the US and France as well as Britain.
"Jeremy will bring his exceptional knowledge of agency and client requirements and his deep understanding of online advertising space to help make Emap Digital and its businesses recognised leaders in this field," said Emap Digital's chief operating officer Luke Alvarez.
Henley will take on a 25 strong sales team that is being reorganised along market category lines. Emap's sites will be divided into streams covering Men, Women, Travel, Entertainment, Active and Music.
"With these distinct market categories we can provide a greater focus on product knowledge and added value solutions for all clients," said Emap Advertising's managing director Tom Toumazis.
