Emap has acquired the Scottish Motorcycle Show from M&R Promotions

and has agreed to acquire Shire PR and Marketing - the owner of the Road

Racing and Superbike Show.

The shows will be managed by the Automotive Network, which was recently

set up to house all Emap’s car and bike properties including Max Power

and the market leading Motor Cycle News.

The exhibitions will also be supported by Emap’s other motorbike titles

- Bike, Performance Bikes, What Bike and Ride, as well as the

motorcyclenews.com website, providing a marketing base of over 800,000

readers.

The shows will continue to be organised and sold by M&R and Shire for

the next two years. However, Emap is training Motorcycle News area sales

manager Richard Husbands, and recruiting two experienced sales

executives, to assist with the selling.

Publishing director Ian Templeton said that the monthly and weekly

motorcycle sales teams are to be merged and will eventually take on the

selling of the exhibitions entirely.

Templeton claimed that Motorcycle News has grown in circulation by 7,000

copies a week since its relaunch in June. He also revealed that Bike is

to be relaunched in the summer, but insisted thatsales were still

growing.

Emap Automotive Network also owns the Fleet Show and, in partnership

with Mallory Park, the Post TT Classic Show.
