Emap to spin off its internet operation

- The UK magazine publishing firm, Emap, is to spin off its internet operations from the rest of its business as the start of a move that will see it significantly increase its investment in the sector.

Emap will set out its plans for Emap Digital to investors later this year. The unit comprises 94 websites in total and generates £10 million in annual revenues.

However, according to David Grigson, Emap finance director, while the internet division will report its results independently it will not be floated off as a separate company.
