EMI adds digital downloads to Kylie.com for first time

LONDON - For the first time, fans of Australian pop songstress Kylie Minogue can download digital content from her official website Kylie.com.

EMI Music's digital division has given Kylie.com a revamp to support the November launch of the pop star's greatest hits album 'Ultimate Kylie' and music lovers can now download hits and real tones for tracks such as 'Spinning Around' and 'Love at First Sight'.

Other digital downloads include official screensavers and wallpaper, a full biography and video gallery with behind-the-scenes footage.

A new service lets fans create customised email addresses from a branded web-based service and EMI Music UK has created a number of email addresses such as numberonefan@kylie.net as prizes in competitions. Merchandise including Kylie dolls and CDs is also available from the site.

Lisa Gower, digital media manager at Parlophone, said: "In providing digital music content for the first time on Kylie.com, EMI is offering fans a further channel to directly access Kylie's official music."

EMI Music has also announced an alliance with Samsung to promote exclusive editorial and download content supplied direct to a newly created urban channel with the Samsung UK Fun Club website.

The Urban Music Zone microsite will include exclusive content from artists including Joss Stone and Jamelia. Danny Van Emden, digital media director at EMI Music UK said: "The Urban Music Zone delivers an influx of official music, premium video, news and features direct from artist to consumer."
