Antonia Noone, the head of marketing at Kwik Fit, said the company carried out an "exhaustive review" of the agency market in a "rigorous" three-stage process.
The review was criticised for asking agencies to present creative work before meeting with the client.
She said: "Enter stood out with its mix of fresh thinking, significant experience and strong creative work. Since its acquisition by Itochu in 2011, Kwik Fit has been investing heavily in its retail estate.
