Ernest Jones owner calls creative review

Signet, the owner of the jewellery chains Ernest Jones, H Samuel and Leslie Davis, has called a review of its advertising requirements.

It is understood that the company wants an agency to deliver an above-the-line campaign for Christmas.

Signet appointed Stack (then known as CMW) after a review in 2012.

Stack last produced ads for Ernest Jones’ autumn/winter collection in 2014 but has not worked for the brand since. The agency is not pitching for the business.

Before Stack, St Luke’s handled the advertising account from 2005. The shop created TV spots for both H Samuel and Ernest Jones.

Signet awarded its media planning and buying account to the7stars in 2011 after a pitch. Lida worked with the company on a project basis from 2009 to 2011.

In 2009, H Samuel launched a TV ad called "find the sparkle", which showed a master craftsman searching his workshop for the perfect sparkle to add to the retailer’s diamonds.

Ernest Jones is Signet’s biggest brand and has almost 200 stores around the UK.

The company declined to comment when contacted by Campaign.
