Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper has scooped Lemsip and Disprin, two of
Reckitt & Colman’s biggest brands, both of which were previously handled
by BDDP GGT.
Reckitt & Colman confirmed the account move, which should add another
pounds 4 million to Euro RSCG’s billings, and will reunite the global
household and pharmaceutical company with Euro RSCG. The agency used to
handle the cleaning spray, Mr Sheen, and the denture cleaner, Steradent,
before losing them to McCann-Erickson in a world-wide realignment last
year.
Brett Gosper, the chief executive of Euro RSCG, said: ’It is a great
compliment that even after an international alignment, a local client
finds a way to work with you.’
Lemsip and Disprin had been with BST BDDP before the global alignment
took the brands to McCanns, but the agency regained them in April 1996
after only three months because of client conflicts within the
McCann-Erickson network. In the pounds 120 million global realignment,
Reckitt & Colman dumped its roster of 40 agencies and handed all its
advertising and media business to McCanns.
A campaign for Lemsip Max Strength by BDDP GGT is running over the
winter months, in which an employee who has taken time off sick is
forced to explain his apparent good health to his boss after taking the
cold and flu remedy.
