Evening Standard rebrands jobs supplement as ads fall

LONDON - The Evening Standard is rebranding its Monday 'Just The Job' supplement as Londonjobs.co.uk, in the wake of an 8% fall in recruitment advertising at the newspaper.

The move is intended to highlight the Evening Standard's Londonjobs.co.uk site, and comes following Associated Newspaper's interim results, which revealed that there had been an 8% fall in recruitment advertising at the Evening Standard over the past six months.

Mike Anderson, managing director of the Evening Standard, said: "The new section means we will have a cross-platform title -- in print and online. We are strengthening our position as the premier player in the London jobs market."

The relaunch will be supported by a radio advertising campaign, running on stations including Capital FM, Kiss FM and Xfm, created by Radioville. Londonjobs.co.uk will still be distributed on Monday, starting today.
