The move is intended to highlight the Evening Standard's Londonjobs.co.uk site, and comes following Associated Newspaper's interim results, which revealed that there had been an 8% fall in recruitment advertising at the Evening Standard over the past six months.
Mike Anderson, managing director of the Evening Standard, said: "The new section means we will have a cross-platform title -- in print and online. We are strengthening our position as the premier player in the London jobs market."
The relaunch will be supported by a radio advertising campaign, running on stations including Capital FM, Kiss FM and Xfm, created by Radioville. Londonjobs.co.uk will still be distributed on Monday, starting today.
