Event TV: British Airways creates 600,000 coin artwork

British Airways has unveiled an artwork of The Statue of Liberty, which has been made out of 600,000 coins.

A team of seven people worked for six hours to create the artwork, which is 10 metres high by eight metres wide.

The coins were delivered from a London bank vault to a British Airways aircraft hangar, which is where the image is located.

British Airways selected The Statue of Liberty for the artwork as New York is the airline's flagship destination.

The stunt celebrates the launch of the airline’s new campaign, ‘The Big British Airways Take Off’, which also launches today. 

A number of other brands have opted to create large 'artworks' of late, including Energizer, who devised a replica of Tower Bridge using recycled batteriesas well as chocolate brand Green & Black's
