The brand has teamed up with personal trainer Mikah Simpson to devise a fitness class workout that utilises car and van tyres from Kwik Fit outposts across the country.

The routine, dubbed Fit Kwik, is currently being trialled in the New Kent Road centre in south east London. Taking place on four Sunday mornings throughout January, each free session lasts 30 minutes.

Participants can expect to tackle tyre flips, lifts and throws in order to burn approximately 1,200 calories in a session. Consumers can register to take part in a class online.

The brand hopes to roll the concept out nationwide following the month-long test period.

The experience was devised after Kwik Fit technicians observed an improvement in fitness through lifting tyres on a daily basis.

Kwik Fit has also released a fitness plan and series of instructional videos for people to try at home. Taylor Herring is collaborating with the brand on the campaign.

Paul Boulton, retail sales and operations director at Kwik Fit, said: "We think everyone is exhausted by faddy diet plans and complicated exercise regimes – we want to put the fun back into fitness for the everyday person with a no-nonsense class that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

"Our stripped down class consists of just you and a few tyres in one of our centre car parks. The trial of our new Fit Kwik class this January is open to anyone who wants to shift that post-Christmas spare tyre, with our spare tyres."
