I got into the event industry because I fell into it. I always had a passion for hospitality and sports which is why I love what I do

I have worked here since 2007.

I was attracted to this particular role because I get to use every type of skill I have learnt over the last 35 years.

Not many people know that at the age of 30 my brother and I were the second-tallest twins in the UK at 6ft 6".

My worst experience at an event was the Champions League Final in Paris 2006. Probably the worst journey to a stadium I have ever done, and I’ve done a few. It took us nearly four hours to get to Stade de France from our hotel (the event company will remain nameless).

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s you can always get better.

The best event I’ve been involved was this year’s Miami Open Tennis for Sony Mobile - a great venue in an amazing city with fantastic client. The whole event just ran so smoothly and everyone involved worked tirelessly to deliver.

If I could do it all over again...it sounds a cliché but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m lucky to say I have never had a job where I’ve thought ‘I hate this’.

The one thing I can’t stand is lateness, and people being untidy.

Outside of work I spend my time with my family, cooking and friends.

If money were no object... I’m going to get my leg pulled about this but I would get someone to recreate ‘Puffa Puffa Rice’, it was my favourite cereal as a kid and I still miss it to this day.

The one thing I can’t do my job without is people.

If I could switch places with anyone else in the industry it would be I wouldn’t… but at a push I’d love to be the general manager for Claridges or the Belair Hotel in LA.

If I ruled the event industry I would try and create more recognition for the people behind running the events in the wider market.
