Events outfit in talks with agencies over £8m TV ad offensive

Red Letter Days, an events company specialising in gift experiences, is looking for a creative agency.

The review is at an early stage, with the firm visiting agencies with a view to holding a pitch. It has spoken to agencies including Mother, St Luke's and HHCL & Partners about the business. One source said Red Letter Days was talking of spending up to £8 million on TV activity, backed by other media. However, the firm spent £500,000 on advertising last year.

Red Letter Days launched in 1989 to offer experiences such as spa days and hot air ballooning as gifts to consumers and businesses. It has recently moved to offering gifts through its website as well as by phone or brochure.

Its Christmas ad campaign, through Mason & Glyde, featured the line "So you think you've seen every Christmas gift. You ain't seen nothing yet".
