Thomson, who left her Global Radio role last June to move to New York, will be based in the US with a remit to develop media and client relationships.

At Global, she took responsibility for its entire portfolio of brands including Capital, LBC, Galaxy, Gold, Xfm and Choice FM, and was involved in the rebranding of a number of stations to Heart.

Thomson's hiring follows Miroma's appointment of the former Publicis regional head Guillaume Lévy-Lambert to its board of directors in February, and of Bernhard Glock, the former global media chief at Procter & Gamble, to a non-executive director in November last year.

The Miroma founder and chief executive, Marc Boyan, said: "Our investment in strong media and marketing personnel is a key driver."
