Facebook is closing off new access to data on how externally hosted content performs when shared within the social media site's ecosystem.

The Domain Insights tool had not been available to those that had not signed up to it before June. Now, it appears that this may not change at all, according to Digiday.

Publishers will still be able to access data from Facebook’s App Insights, which shows figures on content shared from apps inside the site, and Page Insights to understand how content such as Facebook video performs.
