Hunger-relief charity Feeding America uses artificial intelligence to challenge perceptions about hunger.
Using demographic data from the US Department of Agriculture’s food security report, the organisation generated a single face to convey an aggregate "face of hunger", representing those who are hungry throughout the country.
The face transforms to reflect people from different ages and backgrounds as they discuss their struggles with hunger, from an eight-year-old girl leaving school for the summer to a teenager who got his first job to feed his sisters.
The work was written by Javier Valle, art directed by Daniel Jaramillo and Freddy Agostini, and directed by Nic Yiallouris through The Mill. The media agency is Ad Council.
