The company’s first survey into international music festival trends, which was conducted in December 2013 with the support of research agency HPI Research, found more than 20% of UK festival goers travelled to Croatia to go to a festival, while 19% went to Germany and 12% went to The Netherlands.

The research found that while only 8% of those from the UK who went to a festival in 2013 stayed in a luxury hotel, 80% are planning to travel in style and stay in luxury accommodation in the next 12 months for an event.

Three in ten UK participants went to a festival abroad last year, compared with four in ten international festival goers. More people are also classing festivals as holidays, with 60% from the UK believing this to be true as well as 75% from the rest of the world.

The survey highlighted the responses of more than 2,700 global festival goers and was based on the 80 festivals available on its website.
