Film festival transforms its Instagram feed into 'escape room'

Red Lion Canada translates the popular real-life game into the digital space for the Toronto Silent Film Festival

Red Lion Canada’s latest project for the Toronto Silent Film Festival used another visual medium to promote the five-day celebration earlier this month — Instagram. The agency used an integrated series of videos to create an online Escape Room, an interactive puzzle that lets viewers gather clues in a panoramic black-and-white photo comprising 30 different Instagram videos. Each section of the photo plays a first-person video — some of which lead to clues pointing to another section. Hidden throughout the photo are silent films playing at the festival and secret letters that players must rearrange to find the code to escape the room.
