CMP Media’s sales director, Richard Firminger, has joined
DoubleClick, the fast-growing global online sales house.
Firminger, an IT magazine specialist who spent eight years at VNU before
joining the US publisher, CMP, joins as DoubleClick’s first ever UK
He will head a team of 13 and is expected to expand his sales force to
20 by the end of the year.
New York-based DoubleClick handles online sales for Disney Online,
Freeserve and Emap Consumer Online. It also sells Dart, its internet
targeting system, to agencies and advertisers.
Firminger, who confessed to his new colleagues, ’I can’t believe I was
never bored in my old job,’ is the latest traditional media man to move
into the brave new world of web advertising.
