The capital will be used as part of a global expansion strategy which aims to strengthen the company's European presence and open offices in New York and other areas of the US and in Asia.
The funding will also be used to explore new technologies and service opportunities for the consultancy, which has worked on brands including Nokia, Orange and Yahoo! and was instrumental in bringing the BBC iPlayer to mobile.
Beringea's chief investment officer Trevor Hope will be joining Fjord's board as a non-executive director.

Fjord has experienced 50% profit growth in the last four years. It currently has offices in London, Berlin and Helsinki.
