Four agency bosses break pounds 1m earnings barrier in WKS study

Four agency directors earned more than pounds 1 million, with Sir Martin Sorrell the top earner and Media Planning's Bob Offen the top media earner, according to the latest Financial Performance report from Willott Kingston Smith.

Sorrell pocketed pounds 1.32 million, followed by Saatchi & Saatchi's Kevin Roberts on pounds 1.31 million and Cordiant's Michael Bungey on pounds 1.10 million.

Bob Offen, the chief executive of Media Planning, took home pounds 651,000, according to the latest figures.

Young & Rubicam retained its position as the country's biggest agency in terms of gross income, although the agency suffered a 110 per cent fall in operating profit and recorded profit margins of just 0.29 per cent.

St Luke's and M&C Saatchi were star performers, with 345 per cent and 85 per cent profit rises.
