Four IPC publishing directors to move jobs in New Year

LONDON - IPC is appointing two publishing directors at its TV listings division, IPC TX, to take up their roles when director of brand and business development Pippa Pollard leaves in February.

Neil Robinson, currently publishing director for NME and Uncut, will become publishing director for TV Times, TV & Satellite Week and Soaplife. Robinson has worked on IPC's music titles for 10 years and won Publisher of the Year in the 2004 PPA Consumer Magazine Awards.

Charlie Meredith, currently business director within TX, will take on the new role of publishing director for the UK's biggest-selling consumer magazine, What's on TV. He will also be responsible for the TX listings department, new-product development and new business for TX.

Pollard is leaving to join IPC's parent company Time on secondment to its strategic planning department.

Explaining the restructure, IPC TX managing director Philippa Brown said: "I decided that the portfolio needed greater focus at title level and that the best way of doing this is to create publishing roles with title responsibility."

In addition to the changes at TX, there are two other moves within the company.

Sarah Summers, publishing director of IPC Connect's Now and Mizz, is to move to IPC SouthBank in January as publishing director of In Style, Practical Parenting, Hair and Wedding & Home.

Kirsten Price, currently publishing director for Practical Parenting, Hair and Wedding & Home, will take up Summers' position of publishing director on Now and Mizz.

IPC Media chief executive Sylvia Auton said: "These changes will allow some of our most experienced publishing manager to bring their expertise to new markets; they will extend cross-divisional learning and, at the same time, drive some of our core brands to even greater heights."
