Four Irish venues to hire for events

Event is getting in the St Patrick's Day spirit, by taking a look at some of the best venues to hire for events in both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Royal Irish Academy

Comprising Ireland’s leading body of experts in the sciences and humanities, the Royal Irish Academy offers four spaces to hire for events.

The Meeting Room, which was originally designed as a library can accommodate up to 110 people lecture-style, meanwhile The Members Room is suitable for events of up to 60 people. The latter can be combined with The Council Room to host events comprising 110 guests. The Gold Room is ideal for boardroom style-events of up to 10 people.

The Millennium Forum

The Londonderry venue is capable of hosting conferences, seminars, fairs, exhibitions, product launches and business meetings across its 21 function rooms, which can be configured according to the size and nature of the event.

The Auditorium is the largest space, and can accommodate up to 1,040 delegates. Other options include the Northern Bank studio, which is able to host up to 100 people theatre-style, and The Millenium Room is suitable for events comprising 60 delegates. The Foyle Room is ideal for smaller-scale events of up to 20 guests.

The Waterfront

Belfast’s only purpose-built conference centre is set to welcome a new 4,000m2 extension in May, which will see it offer 7,000m2 of event space.

The building comprises a total of 40 event spaces. Options such as Hall One and the Main Auditorium are suitable for large-scale events, and can accommodate 2,000 people theatre-style. Hall 2A is equipped to host 500 standing guests or 300 seated, and Arc Space is suitable for events of up to 200 attendees.

Smock Alley Theatre

Three spaces are available to hire at Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre, which also includes a bar that stocks Irish ciders and ales.

The theatre, or Main Space comprises 178 newly constructed seats, as well as dressing room facilities, meanwhile The Boy’s School has a 75-person capacity. Complete with stained glass windows that hark back to the building’s time as a church, The Banquet Hall is the largest of three, and can accommodate 200 guests.
