- Funmail, the free web-based email service, has appointed Branded to spearhead an aggressive brand building campaign.
Branded has been briefed to develop and implement a brand positioning campaign targeting 15- to 34-year-olds. In addition, it will manage the relationships with creative and media agencies that will be appointed in the near future. In effect, Branded will become the out-of-house marketing department for Funmail.
Funmail offers users a choice of over 8,000 names to use as email addresses. Unlike other free email services, such as Hotmail, Funmail offers surfers a range of personal email addresses that sum up a variety of emotions, moods and occasions.
Funmail is rapidly approaching 250,000 users of the service within 6 months of going live. It recently received £5.25 million of funding, valuing the company in excess of £30 million. A large proportion of the funding has been earmarked for this marketing offensive.
