Future advances into Italy

- The UK's Future Publishing has acquired Italian computer and video games publisher, Il Mio Castello, for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Milan, Il Mio publishes 15 magazines in the computing and video games sector - nine of which are published unlicensed from Future – and has monthly sales in excess of 600,000 copies.

The company's titles include Il Milo Computer, which claims 85,000 sales per month, The Official Italian Playstation Magazine, 146.000, and Computer Magazine, 105,700.

The company reported a turnover of £15.6 million for 1998 and employs 72 staff.

The company will continue to be headed by former Il Mio owner, Gaetano Manti, who will join Future's board and become a partner of Future Publishing Holdings.
