FutureNet has launched the Maximum PC Network, a new UK web network aimed at computer enthusiasts and those seeking advice and information about computing and the internet.
The Maximum PC Network will offer regularly updated news, articles, tutorials and reviews from Future's market leading magazine websites together with links to independent websites that provide expert information for PC users. Examples include Windows troubleshooting, expert website design advice and free software downloads worth thousands of pounds.
The network is based on the US site that Future acquired following its purchase of Imagine Media in the US earlier this year.
The Maximum PC Network's homepage is updated twice every weekday, and highlights new content on the network of sites that sit behind www.maximumpc.co.uk. It also provides instant access to 26 topic related discussion forums, where users can get answers to virtually any computing related question or exchange views and tips with other PC enthusiasts.
Future has plans to launch dedicated auctions and free-email services to the site soon and is also in discussions with various retailers to provide online shopping for PC and related products.
Greg Ingham, chief executive of Future, said: "Maximum PC Network UK follows our successful US network model and brings together the leading online content for anyone in the UK who is interested in learning about computing and how to get the most out of their computer and the internet."
