GALLERY 08: VW Polo - Breakdown

Shot over two days by DP John Lynch and with precise editing from Orrick, this spot is subtle, eye-catching and typical of what we have come to expect from VW. Ledwidge directs with a style that steers clear of the cliches that beset this genre of film-making. The space and silence, for example, are particularly refereshing as we follow the protagonist's comical attempts to push-start a stalled lorry. The message is that he is yet another casualty of the rugged new Polo, who has let the toughness of the vehicle go to his head.
