Gaming Internet plc, an owner of online gambling sites, has

appointed Bridgeworks, the communications company, to handle its

marketing and help search for creative and media agencies to launch its

products in the UK.

The company, which recently launched on the Alternative Investment

Market with a valuation of pounds 135 million, has a UK marketing budget

of pounds 5 million and plans to launch its Sportsmad.com site in the UK

this year.

Sportsmad.com will include sports news and gossip with a heavy emphasis

on online games that users can play.

It will link into Gaming Internet’s existing site, Zapcasino.com, which

offers online gambling.

Bridgeworks is working on a marketing strategy for both sites and is

putting together a marketing communications plan to cover the UK launch

and international activity.

Simon King, a founder of Bridgeworks, said: ’Sport is a mature market on

the internet. We look forward to establishing a new player.’

Gaming Internet’s chief executive, Ian Ryden, said the appointment was

’the first step in a major commitment of resource to marketing, which

will include senior internal appointments’. Nigel Robertson, a Scoot.com

founder and a Gaming Internet shareholder, becomes chairman.
