Mulligan will leave her role as director of enterprise and principal lecturer for the UK Centre for Events Management (UKCEM) at Leeds Beckett University at the end of August. She will become a business partner in Game Enterprise, where she will co-direct the network's events and business strategy.

Game Republic organises ten events each year with brands including Microsoft, Sony and Amazon for 700-plus members. It also provides games content for festivals, workshops, international trade missions and produces events for other companies such as the Investment Summit at EGX in Birmingham for the Gamer Network.

Mulligan said: "I want to use my background in designing events, research and education within the events industry to support organisations. In particular I think more can be done to better evaluate, design and measure the impact of experiences and I hope to continue my research and consultancy work with many of the fantastic researchers I have worked with over the last ten years."

Mulligan will continue to volunteer as VP Education for MPI UK & Ireland, a network for meeting professionals.
