The game, created by Birmingham-based digital agency Tamba Internet, was created to reach amateur and professional gardeners, as well as schoolchildren to show gardening in a fun and accessible way.
The game, which can be played at growingforlife.org/game/, has five levels that test people's watering skills and gardening knowledge.
Players have to manoeuvre animated gardener 'Cyber Chris' around five different gardens -- country garden, rose garden, greenhouse, Heidi's tulip garden and, in the final round, the maze -- giving the flowers enough water to keep them alive.
By keeping at least the minimum amount of flowers alive, players can then progress to the next level.
At the end of each level, a trivia question is asked to test players' gardening knowledge and enable them to earn bonus points and eventually be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to a Growing for Life event.
Kay Hammond, managing director of Tamba Internet, said: "We have been really pleased with the release of our first viral since setting up our dedicated viral team.
"We are competing in a very crowded market right now with all the football-inspired viral games and we've been delighted with the feedback we've received, both from players of the game and brands wanting to work with us."
The game is currently at number five on the Viral Chart, averaging more than 1,500 plays a day and is also in the top 10 on the Lycos viral chart at number seven.
