She will lead a team of five planners at the 50-strong agency, whose clients include Hilton, Gumtree and Carlsberg. Gaufman has been tasked with "defining what strategy means for a 21st-century agency" and will report to chief executive Marc Nohr when she joins Fold7 next month.
The hire follows that of Simon Learman, who joined from Adam & Eve/DDB as executive creative director earlier this year. Christine Beardsell, managing director at ZenithOptimedia’s Newcast UK, will become Fold7’s managing partner for content in July.
Gaufman joined Havas London as planning director in 2008 when the agency was known as Euro RSCG. She has also worked at J Walter Thompson and Grey Worldwide.
David Howard, Fold7’s former head of planning, left in October last year.
