George Clooney teaches Danny DeVito how to drink coffee as Nespresso's U.S. envoy

After nine year relationship with Swiss coffee brand, Clooney films first commercial for domestic audiences with McCann New York

Nespresso has returned its brand ambassador George Clooney to the U.S, where he continues to school less sophisticated actors in the art of drinking good coffee.

Clooney has been brand ambassador for the Switzerland-based premium single serve coffee brand for almost a decade, starring in ads that have run mainly in Europe. The first U.S. creative work, created by McCann New York, is in the same vein as the international "Experience a cup above" ads. The new ad, which is being aired in North America as 30-second and 60-second executions, shows Clooney inducing his real life buddy Danny DeVito into his exclusive coffee club, while working on set together.

Clooney’s former protégées have included Matt Damon, John Malkovich and Jack Black.

In addition to the TV and print ads, Nespresso has launched a microsite and web film, in which Clooney the company’s commitment to sustainability, including its recycling program and farmer welfare.
