GGT has made a commercial for the up-and-coming East End tailor,
Timothy Everest, who has dressed Tom Cruise in two Hollywood films.
Everest created Cruise’s sharp suits for his starring role in the
thriller, Mission: Impossible, and is making all the star’s clothes for
his next film, Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.
Jonathan Budds, a GGT copywriter and a client of Everest’s, has written
a 40-second cinema ad featuring the tailor in his studio near London’s
Spitalfields. GGT gave its services to the project for free.
The ad, designed to promote Everest’s exclusive line of bespoke suits,
features two sharply dressed, rival East End gangs meeting in a pub.
After a fight, one of the thugs runs into a nearby house, which turns
out to be Everest’s studio. He goes up to Everest, shows him a cut on
his head, then the tailor threads a needle and reaches out as if to sew
up the wound.
Budds said: ’I did this ad because Everest has so many great things
going for him. His clothes are really sharp.’
The film was directed by Russell de Rosario through the fledgling
production company, Purple Pictures. It will be shown in independent
cinemas across London.
