Global Address snapped up by Texan firm Harte-Hanks

LONDON - Harte-Hanks, the global direct marketing company, has acquired the Bristol-based data firm Global Address.

Global Address provides global postal address data software and services to more than 200 countries.

The two companies have worked together previously and Harte-Hanks, which is based in San Antonio, Texas, plans to integrate Global Address into its existing international offerings including Global Data Management.

The company, renamed Global Address Harte-Hanks, will also work to maintain existing arrangements with Global Address end users, resellers and equipment manufacturers in all regions.

Global Address co-founder Martin Turvey will now serve as managing director of Global Address Harte-Hanks.

Gary Skidmore, senior-vice president at Harte-Hanks, said:"A strength of Global Address is its breadth of address reference data, compiled from postal authorities and other licensed address data sources for virtually every place in the world where mail is delivered."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by Harte-Hanks or Global Address.
