Global Pride takes over Animal Crossing for a virtual procession.
On 27 June, the Pride festival will take place on a specially-built island on Animal Crossing, the popular social simulation video game series, with the aim of providing a safe space for members of the LGBT+ community. It includes a march, a hall of fame, a catwalk and a club, as well as Pride-friendly clothing that users can adopt within the game.
This comes alongside a Twitch fundraiser, with all money going towards Pride organisations impacted by Covid-19. The work was written by Jeremy Lim and art directed by Benn Tan.
Earlier this month, Pride in London launched a campaign highlighting the impact of Covid-19 on the LGBT+ community.
