Anorak will be headed by glue's head of account management, Glenn Jones. It will be run separately from its sister company, and housed in different offices.
Although it will be able to operate as a conflict shop, the main idea is to run Anorak as a traditional digital agency.
Jones said: "We've launched Anorak to work with clients focused on design or production-led projects that don't require the specialist strategic skills or conceptual approach that glue is famous for. Anorak offers the best design and technical solutions through content, web, internet or other digital media with an already proven team."
Anorak launches with a team of eight - six of whom are joining from glue, including Anthony Oanes, who takes on the role of design director.
James Sanderson, the joint managing director of glue, said: "Glue has been a leading light in the growth of the UK's digital advertising scene, and it is continuing this through the launch of Anorak."
