Web sales house New Media Marketing & Sales has added two sites to
its portfolio of sports portals.
The company’s seven-strong sales team is handling banner advertising and
sponsorship for www.golftoday. com - the golfing internet site owned by
Nexus Internet - and Talk Radio’s online sports radio station,
www.talksport.net.
New Media Marketing & Sales will sell audio advertising on
www.talksport.net, the UK’s first standalone online station. Consumers
with audio capacity on their computers can log on and listen to
www.talksport.net’s sports presenters and call in to have their say on
air.
The site also contains news coverage of football, cricket, rugby, motor
sport and horseracing, interactive games and online shopping.
The www.golftoday.com site is billed as ’Europe’s premier online Golf
magazine’. It contains information on tournaments and players, tour
rankings and broadcasts a daily news round-up supplied by the news
agency Hayters Sports Agency. Users can also buy sports equipment and
book golfing holidays thought the site.
Nexus has embarked on an online and offline advertising drive in a bid
attract more golf fans. Campaigns have included booking campaigns on
Excite.co.uk and in the pages of golfing magazines and hosting
competitions online to involve users.
’www.golftoday.com is a valuable addition to the New Media Marketing &
Sales fold,’ said the managing director Richard Holman. ’Golf is not a
subject well covered on the internet, despite its obvious appeal.’
