Govt seeks agency for parenting brief

The Department for Education and Skills is talking to agencies about a campaign designed to help parents become better at parenting.

COI, which is conducting the review, has asked Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners, VCCP and DDB London to present for the task.

The DfES has briefed agencies to explore ways of communicating with parents on their parenting skills. However, details of the task are shrouded in secrecy.

This year, the education secretary Ruth Kelly has been outlining government plans to offer parenting skills through its Respect Action Plan.

No-one from the DfES or the agencies involved could be reached for comment.
