- Granada Sky Broadcasting has ended its search for a chief executive with the appointment of Gary Dale.

Dale fills the gap left by Jeff Henry, who left the cable and satellite broadcaster in the Summer. Dale was chief executive of a US interactive gaming company Broadband Studios and also spent a stint as senior vice president of marketing for BMG Entertainment.

Richard Freudenstein, British Sky Broadcasting's chief operating officer, commented: "He brings the relevant experience and skill set to help us achieve the growth we're looking for in GSB and create an exciting, consumer focused cross platform proposition."

Dale said: "The company is well positioned to take advantage of the growth opportunities in one of the most dynamic sectors of the media industry today."

Dale takes up his new role from November 1.
