Lifestyle channel UKTV has clinched a sponsorship deal with
GreenFingers.com, the gardening website.
The deal, believed to be worth around pounds 250,000, covers all of UK
Style’s gardening programmes and will take effect from November.
UK Style’s gardening portfolio, housed under the brand name Cutting Hedge
TV, consists of BBC productions such as Ground Force, Home Front in the
Garden and Gardening Neighbours.
Gareth Vaughan Jones, communications manager at Flextech, negotiated the
deal with GreenFingers’ media agency Equinox Communications. Media buying
was handled by Zenith.
The animated credits for GreenFingers were created and produced on behalf
of UKTV by BBC Creative Services and consist of traditional sponsorship
credits and break bumpers.
Vaughan Jones said: ’A brand like GreenFingers matches perfectly with UK
Style’s audience profile. UK Style attracts more than three million
viewers a month and is an excellent way of reaching viewers interested in
UK Style is available on cable and satellite platforms as part of the UKTV
network, a joint venture between the BBC and Flextech.
