Greenies "Stick" by Adam & Eve/DDB

Mars brand Greenies depicts the hilarious and sometimes frustrating turns that life with a dog can take.

"Dogs don’t know what’s good for them, like not being able to leave a good stick alone," the voiceover says. While a dog runs carefree across a deserted beach, its owner is less happy about the whole experience. After the man composes an SOS message in the sand using only sticks, his canine companion destroys his chance of rescue by grabbing one of the sticks, thus changing the words from "Help" to "Helo".

The work was written by Miles Carter and art directed by Helen Balls. It was directed by Tim McNaughton of The Bobbsey Twins, who establishes a cinematic scene before puncturing this with a moment of hilarious comic timing.

The light-hearted ad follows the brand’s first ever Christmas campaign, in which a dog's hunger for a stick ruins a festive moment.
