Dowgierd left Happen in September without a job to go to. He was a senior account director at Fallon when he came up with the business plan for Happen's launch.
His primary responsibility in the newly created role at Greenroom will be the development of branded content business, something that the agency has identified as a growth area. In June, Greenroom launched GRD Productions, a viral and branded content unit, which has since worked on projects for clients including PlayStation.
Jon Hamm, the Greenroom managing director, said: "We were looking for someone who can talk to prospective clients about what content can do for them, and that was obviously a big part of Philip's role at Happen."
Dowgierd will report to Hamm as part of the agency's second tier of management.
"Clients are actively looking for alternatives to traditional advertising, and digital agencies are best placed to come up with them," Dowgierd said.
