Grey hires Cannes winners to drive up creative standards

Grey London has hired two teams of Cannes award winners as part of ongoing efforts by the agency's new regime to raise its creative game.

One of the pairings, Matt Saunby and Adam Chiappe, are joining from Bartle Bogle Hegarty where, during their seven-year spell, they worked on Boddingtons, Xbox, Lynx and Levi's.

The other team comprises the copywriter Pablo Monzon and the art director Elvio Sanchez. The Spanish-based partnership has 16 Cannes Lions between them.

Their arrival is in line with the declared intent of Dave Alberts, the executive creative director, to raise creative standards by drawing in new talent.

"We want to open up to different ways of thinking, including recruiting creatives from different countries and cultures as well as attracting the hottest talent in London," Alberts said. "I love the outstanding work the new creatives have done on big brands."
