Grey joins forces with French marketing group

- Grey Global Group is merging its advertising, direct marketing and sales promotion operations in France with those of Callegari Berville - one of the largest independent marketing communications groups in France. The Grey Paris and Callegari Berville advertising agencies will merge to become Callegari Berville Grey as part of the Grey Worldwide network. The French Group has a total staff of 430 and combined revenues in excess of FF 300 million ($ 42.2 million). The new agency is expected to rank in the top ten in the French market. Grey currently ranks number six on a global basis and number eight in Europe. "This merger underscores Grey's commitment to the European marketing arena and specifically how important the French market is to the overall vision of the Grey Global Group," Ed Meyer, chairman and chief executive at Grey Global Group said.

The new agency's client list will include Bank Credit du Nord, British American Tobacco, Danone, Electricite de France, ICI Dulux, Oracle. Procter & Gamble, Seagram and Stella Artois Group.
