Based in Bangkok, Grubb is responsible for building a central team to service Unilever in Southern Asia. This will replace the current system where Lowe uses local teams in individual markets to create Unilever ads.
Grubb, who left DFGW last July after co-founding it 15 years ago, will report directly to Nigel Gilbert, the president of Lowe Asia-Pacific.
Grubb said: "Asia is developing at a massive pace and, compared with the static London and US markets, it's just such an exciting place to be.
"I think the job is probably one of the most difficult in the creative arena but I'm going to give it my all and will start improving Unilever output."
Gilbert said: "When it comes to creating differentiation for clients' products through great creative solutions, there is no-one with a better pedigree than Paul Grubb. Paul's decision to accept Lowe's creative lead on Unilever in Asia-Pacific is one of the agency's most important creative appointments to date."
