- The Guardian is expanding its network of websites with the launch of Shopping Unlimited (www.Shoppingunlimited.co.uk).

Shopping Unlimited is an online guide to online shopping, the backbone of which is an A-Z directory of the best shopping destinations on the net with links to the recommended sites.

It includes guidance on how to join the many auction sites for bargains on the net and contains advice on the principles of buying over the net from web author Jim McClellan.

Shopping Unlimited will be updated with new shopping destinations as they emerge.

Simon Waldman, internet editor of The Guardian, said: "This is a much needed service for internet users in the UK. As consumer confidence in internet shopping and the number of shopping sites grows, so does the need for a comprehensive, authoritative and trustworthy guide to how and where to do it, and that's exactly what Shopping Unlimited will deliver."
