Guardian goes global with tabloid

Due to launch in September, the specially edited Guardian Global Edition will contain 24 pages of articles from the London based newspaper.

The Global Edition's distribution will be controlled through the international publishing agency PressPoint, which has distribution centres across the United States and key cities outside Europe.

Targeted at business and leisure travellers alike the Guardian Global Edition will be available through various PressPoint outlets, including selected hotels in major cities.

Nigel Bicknell, The Guardian's head of international planning, said: "The new Guardian Global Edition is the third phase in up weighting the paper's international presence allowing Guardian readers to get hold of a copy of their favourite newspaper wherever they might be".
