- The Guardian Unlimited has launched a new kind of content affiliate programme that offers publishers free access to a limited amount of content from Guardian websites as part of an effort to drive traffic to the Guardian's network of sites.
Each affiliate site will be offered the use of headlines and first paragraphs from stories on all the sites in the Unlimited Network. Database search windows are also available, for example for film listings and job vacancies.
The service will allow affiliate websites to enhance their content, while introducing their users to the Unlimited Network of sites.
Geoff Inns, Guardian Unlimited's business development manager, said: "This initiative will provide a potentially limitless number of partner sites with excellent material from Guardian Unlimited for free. This scheme will increase global interest enormously. We want you to be unable to move without seeing something from the Guardian Unlimited network."
The site contains a wide variety of news feeds and searchable databases such as specialised business and motoring news; football and cricket news; film reviews, features education news and resources.
The Content Distribution service is available from a drop-down menu on any Guardian Unlimited web page, or at www.guardianunlimited.co.uk/distribution. It is designed so that sites can use material immediately, and can set up a feed automatically.
