Guinness Brewing Worldwide has ended its eight-month search for a

European marketing director with the appointment of Nestle marketer Jon

Potter.

Potter, 34, is currently based in the Czech Republic, where he is

marketing director of Nestle joint-venture company Cokoladovny.

He replaces Rob MacNevin, who left the company in February to become

head of marketing at cider manufacturer Matthew Clark.

Guinness Brewing Worldwide is divided into seven geographical operating

regions. As head of marketing for Europe, Potter’s remit includes all

countries except Spain, Ireland and Great Britain, each of which are run

as distinct operating units.

The emerging eastern European markets are targeted as a key growth area

by the brewer.

’Growth in our emerging markets continues to be our main priority,’ says

Malcolm Swift, managing director of Guinness Europe, ’Jon’s appointment

will help us to achieve this.’
