Hurrell and Dawson has scooped the brief to promote the luxury jewellery retailer Garrard in the UK and US.
Rise Communications will be overseeing media planning on the business, while Initiative will handle any buying requirements.
The activity is expected to focus on press work in luxury magazines, although H&D will also handle online and PR initiatives. A brand campaign is scheduled to get started this autumn, which will be the first high-profile advertising activity for Garrard for four years.
Last year, Garrard was bought by Yucaipa, the investment group led by the Beverly Hills-based supermarket billionaire Rob Burkle.
With the backing of Burkle, Garrard has demonstrated ambitious growth plans. Just last month, a branch on Rodeo Drive opened with a launch party packed with celebrities.
H&D picked up the account without a competitive pitch. The agency's co-founder Nick Hurrell has worked with Garrard at his previous agency, M&C Saatchi, where Asprey & Garrard was a client. The two jewellery brands now have separate ownership.
Hurrell said: "Garrard is the oldest jewellery house in the world, and yet has a fierce ambition for the future."
H&D was founded last autumn. Since then, it has won project work from Eurostar and St Pancras. It has also picked up briefs from IPC Connect, and the Early Learning Centre's ad account. The agency's partners, Hurrell and Neil Dawson, are currently looking for a high-profile media partner.
